May 2008
Our April tour
in Lincoln was a resounding success. Two games were played -
winning 2-1 against Lincoln and drawing 5-5 against Louth. The Tour
Committee deserve a mention for the activities and fun that we had -
but of course - what goes on tour stays on tour and cannot be
reported here.
The Summer
League started on 12th May and now runs until the first week in
August. The summer hockey league is 7 a-side played on half the
pitch - great fun and great for your fitness. We started with a 7-1
win over Wellingborough 2nds. If you are interested please check the
match dates and times on the fixtures page and let Carrina know when
you can play. We also need volunteers for goalie and umpiring in
these matches!
The AGM is to be
held on Friday May 16th 2008 at Wendy's. All welcome! Apologies to
Lindsey.

Olney enjoyed
their Christmas party at The Green Man in Lavendon.
Father Christmas
was seen entertaining the ladies and providing plenty of laughs.
Several members
of the Team were shown to have hidden skills with a malteser.
And it was
discovered most of the team can freakishly roll their tongues.
The club wish
everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

After what
seems like a long summer Olney Ladies are back in training and are
ready and raring to go for the new season. Pre season training is so
far going well - and we are looking forward to our first league game
on September 29th against Wilcatz at home. We are looking to top last
season’s performance when we finished 8th in Division 1.
Olney drew 3-3
in their first friendly match against Wellingborough.
Olney have had
several enquiries recently regarding training for juniors.
With the new rules and regulations Olney are unable to cater for any
under 14 year olds. The local clubs who do cater for players
from 5 to 15 years at Bedford Hockey Club, (Sunday mornings from
9.30am to 11am) Boy and Girls. Wellingborough girls from 10 to 15 on
Weds evenings from 6.30 - 7.15 at Wrenn School and Milton Keynes (Woughton)

mornings from 10am. For any under 18 year olds gum shields and shin
pads are now essential.
